Noize Beatz
Born in the vibrant musical mecca of Athens, GA, Theodore “Noize Beatz” Lawrence’s productions carry the raw energy of late nights in the club and dreams chased relentlessly. Every track he touches is more than just music – it’s a journey.
But for Noize, the journey began at 12 years old when he started composing instrumentals on his first Zoom RT-123 drum machine. He learned Pro Tools the following year and upgraded to the industry standard MPC 2000XL. He started college at American Intercontinental University in Atlanta at age 16, majoring in Mass Communications, and graduated with an impressive 3.4 GPA. Eventually moving to Los Angeles, he met TLC’s T-Boz at the ASCAP Awards and later crafted the powerful “American Gold” for the group’s self-titled album. The single’s anti-war message and undertone of empowerment resonated with critics and consumers alike and sent the album to #1 on both the US Independent Albums and UK R&B Albums charts.
The momentum continued when “Insecure” star Issa Rae launched her Raedio record label through Atlantic Records and pegged Noize to develop its first release - TeaMarrr’s “Kinda Love”, a playfully explicit exploration of modern relationships. Noize’s smooth, mid-tempo romp laid the perfect soundbed and established the “right now sound” that has since become his signature.
“I’m not a beatmaker,” he says emphatically. “I'm a vocal producer, arranger, and architect of sound. I take pride in working directly with artists and helping them make their full creative vision come to life.”
Noize returned to his Georgia roots and began working with legendary hitmaker Jazze Pha. The duo cooked up heat for Snoop Dogg, Too Short and Elijah Connor of the hit reality competition show The Four. But when Noize returned to LA, Robot Scott of Triangle Park Music told him he needed a west coast R&B banger for L.A. Reid’s new artist JayDon. Less than a day later, “Ah! Ah!” – a melodic masterpiece written by Love & Hip Hop’s Brittany B – was born. Released as JayDon’s first single, the track’s lush synths and layered vocals gave the teen a radio smash and solidified Noize’s ability to break new artists.
With plans to continue breaking more new acts, start his own label, and produce entire albums singlehandedly, Noize Beatz’s musical journey has only just begun.
